In the Navy, the&nbsp;<strong><em>Chief Petty Officer<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;serves a dual role as both a technical expert and as a leader; emphasis being more on leadership. There is always a sense of humor that comes from this culture. For the Navy, I find the more ingenious humor typically involves a CPO.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Enjoy this Navy Friday Funny!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The rain had stopped and\nthere was a big puddle in front of the bar just outside the American Legion\nPost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A rumpled old Navy Master Chief was standing near the edge with a fishing line in the puddle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A curious young Marine\nfighter pilot came over to him and asked what he was doing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Fishing,&#8221; the old\nChief simply said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Poor old chief,&#8221;\nthe Marine officer thought to himself and invited the old Navy Chief into the\nbar for a drink.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As he felt he should start a\nconversation while they were sipping their spirits, the young jet pilot winked\nat another pilot and asked the Chief, &#8220;How many have you caught\ntoday?&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;You&#8217;re number 14,&#8221; the old Chief answered, taking another sip from his double shot of 12-year-old Scotch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Two Air Force, 3 Navy, and 9 Marines.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Each military branch of the United States has its own cultures, language, and traditions.
