In the Navy, the <strong><em>Chief Petty Officer<\/em><\/strong> serves a dual role as both a technical expert and as a leader; emphasis being more on leadership. There is always a sense of humor that comes from this culture. For the Navy, I find the more ingenious humor typically involves a CPO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Enjoy this Navy Friday Funny.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Several men, including one old staunchy Navy Chief Petty Officer, are in the locker room of a swanky San Diego golf club a few days before Christmas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A mobile phone on a bench rings. The Chief looks around the room and, not seeing anyone, walks over and answers it, hitting the speaker button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chief: \u201cHello.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Woman on the phone: \u201cHoney, it\u2019s me\u2026 are you at the club?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chief: \u201cYes, of course. Where else would I be?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Woman: \u201cI\u2019m at the mall now and found this beautiful leather coat. It\u2019s on sale at half price and only costs $1,000. Is it okay if I buy it?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chief: \u201cSure, go ahead if you really like it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Woman: \u201cYou\u2019re so sweet. By the way, I also stopped by the Mercedes dealership and saw a Benz I really liked. And it\u2019s in your favorite color: Battleship Gray.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chief: \u201cHow much?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Woman: \u201cIt\u2019s less than a hundred grand; only $98,000.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chief: \u201cOkay, but for that price, make sure it comes will all the options you want.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Woman: \u201cYou\u2019re so wonderful. What a great Christmas present. Oh, and one more thing\u2026 the house we wanted last year is back on the market. They\u2019re asking $980,000. I know it\u2019s a lot, but it really is our dream home.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chief: \u201cWell, if you really want it, then go ahead and make an offer for 900 grand. They\u2019ll probably take it. If not, go the extra 80 if you think it\u2019s a good price.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Woman: \u201cOh, honey. You\u2019re the stuff dreams are made of. I love you sooooo much! You\u2019re the most generous man I\u2019ve ever known.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chief: \u201cThanks, sweetie. You are so worth it. Merry Christmas! \u2018Bye!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Chief hangs up the phone and gently places it back on the bench.
