In the Navy, the&nbsp;<strong><em>Chief Petty Officer<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;serves a dual role as both a technical expert and as a leader; emphasis being more on leadership. There is always a sense of humor that comes from this culture. For the Navy, I find the more ingenious humor typically involves a CPO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">Enjoy this Navy Friday Funny!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Marine Gunnery Sergeant and a Navy Senior Chief are walking down the street in downtown San Diego.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Gunny slips into a baker\u2019s shop and emerges with three buns in his pockets. \u201cI slipped these off the shelf and into my pockets without anyone noticing,\u201d he said. \u201cThat took craft and guile.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThat\u2019s just common thievery,\u201d snorted the Senior Chief. \u201cFollow me and I\u2019ll show you how to get free buns <em>legally<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, the Senior Chief and the Gunny walk into the bakery and approach the counter. The Chief sees the baker and says, \u201cDo you want to see a magic trick?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The baker, in between customers and baking says, \u201cSure, why not.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOK,\u201d the Chief says. \u201cHand me one of those buns.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The baker hands the Chief a bun, which he puts into his mouth and proceeds to eat it. The Chief then asks for a second one and eats it. Then, a third.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The baker rolls his eyes and shrugged. \u201cOK. What\u2019s the magic trick?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Chief points to the Gunny. \u201cLook in his pockets\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Never&#8230; try to one-up a Senior Chief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-cyan-bluish-gray-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-9dbdd584a970985f1a9734b7bc6c0870 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#000030\"><strong>Andy Adkins<\/strong>\u00a0is a US Navy veteran (\u201973-77) and the author of several books.
