Each military branch of the United States has its own cultures, language, and traditions. In the Navy, the Chief Petty Officer serves a dual role as both a technical expert and as a leader; emphasis being more on leadership. There is always a sense of humor that comes from this culture. For the Navy, I find the more ingenious humor typically involves a CPO.

The Marine Corps Ball is an elegant and auspicious occasion, attended by all branches of the military, not just Marines.
At the Ball, a Marine Lieutenant, an Army Colonel, and a Navy Senior Chief Petty Offer were in the restroom, standing side-by-side using the urinal.
The young Marine Lieutenant finished, zipped up, and started washing his hands… clear up to his elbows… he used 20 paper towels before he finished. He turned to the other two military men and commented, “I graduated from Annapolis and they taught us to be clean.”
The Army Colonel finished, zipped up and quickly wet the tips of his fingers, grabbed one paper towel and commented, “I graduated from West Point and they taught us to be environmentally conscious.”
The Senior Chief zipped up and as he was walking out the door, turned and said to the two officers, “One thing they taught us in boot camp was not to piss on our hands.”
