Each military branch of the United States has its own cultures, language, and traditions. In the Navy, the Chief Petty Officer serves a dual role as both a technical expert and as a leader; emphasis being more on leadership. There is always a sense of humor that comes from this culture. For the Navy, I find the more ingenious humor typically involves a CPO.

A sailor was deployed overseas on a Westpac cruise. While at sea, he received a letter from his girlfriend. Looking forward to another heart-felt read, he tore open the letter. However, in the letter, she explained that she had slept with two other guys while he had been gone and she wanted to break up with him.
She also wanted the pictures of herself that she’d given to him.
What to do? Ask the Senior for advice…
The Senior Chief Petty Officer didn’t hesitate when the sailor came to him with his conundrum.
“Here’s what you’re going to do, sailor,” quipped the Senior.
“Make the rounds in the division, asking other sailors for pictures of girls they have in their lockers. Make sure they’re ones they don’t care about. Once you have a couple of dozen, add your girlfriend’s photo to the pack. Then write her the following note:
‘I don’t remember which one you are. Please remove your picture from the pack and send the rest back.’”
