Each military branch of the United States has its own cultures, language, and traditions. In the Navy, the Chief Petty Officer serves a dual role as both a technical expert and as a leader; emphasis being more on leadership. There is always a sense of humor that comes from this culture. For the Navy, I find the more ingenious humor typically involves a CPO.

An active duty Navy Senior Chief happens to be relaxing at home after a long, 8-month Westpac cruise. He has three daughters, all of dating age.
One Saturday night, he hears a gentle knock on the door. Answering the door, he sees a nicely dressed young man.
“Hi. I’m Eddie. I’m here for Betty. We’re going out for spaghetti. Is she ready?”
The Chief scoffs, shakes his head, briefly nods to Eddie, and calls his daughter down; off they go on their date.
After a little while longer, he hears another knock. Answering the door, he sees another nice young man, smartly dressed, “high & tight” haircut, and an award-winning smile.
“Hi, I’m Joe. I’m here for Flo. We’re going to the picture show. Is she ready to go?”
The Chief grins, briefly nods to Joe, and calls his daughter down; off they go on their date.
After a little while longer, he hears another knock; this time, the knock is loud and obnoxious. Answering the door, he sees a young man wearing flip flops, Bermuda shorts, Hawaiian shirt, with long, mussy hair.
“Hi, I’m Chuck…”
Before “Chuck” could get another word in, the Senior lands his square fist smack dab in the middle of his face before slamming the door.
