Navy Friday Funny – Route to Becoming an Admiral

Navy Friday Funny Logo v2

Each military branch of the United States has its own cultures, language, and traditions. In the Navy, the Chief Petty Officer serves a dual role as both a technical expert and as a leader; emphasis being more on leadership. There is always a sense of humor that comes from this culture. For the Navy, I find the more ingenious humor typically involves a CPO.

Enjoy this Navy Friday Funny. An oldie but a goodie.

Three men are sitting stiffly, side-by-side on a long commercial flight.

After they’re airborne and the plane has leveled off, the man in the window seat abruptly says, distinctly and confidently in a low voice, “Admiral, United States Navy, retired. Married, two sons, both surgeons.”

After a few minutes the man in the aisle seat states through a tightlipped smile, “Admiral, United States Navy, retired. Married, two sons, both judges.”

After some thought and a quick glance at the men on both sides of him, the fellow in the center seat decides to introduce himself.

With a twinkle in his eye he proclaims, “Master Chief Petty Officer, United States Navy, retired. Never married, two sons, both Admirals.”

God bless the United States Chief Petty Officer.

  1. Command Master Chief, US Navy retired after 28 years. Married, Dad, Papaw, shipmate, neighbor and friend. Oh, I’m also a Christian.
