Each military branch of the United States has its own cultures, language, and traditions. In the Navy, the Chief Petty Officer serves a dual role as both a technical expert and as a leader; emphasis being more on leadership. There is always a sense of humor that comes from this culture. For the Navy, I find the more ingenious humor typically involves a CPO.

Lady at a Bar: Do you drink beer?
Chief: Yes.
Lady: How many beers a day?
Chief: Usually about 3.
Lady: How much to you pay per beer?
Chief: Here in the US, about $5 with a tip.
Lady: And how long have you been drinking?
Chief: 20 years, give or take.
Lady: So a beer costs $5 and you have 3 beers a day which puts your spending each month at $450 for beer. In one year, you’d spend $5,400, correct?
Chief: Aye, aye.
Lady: If in 1 year, you spend $5,400, not accounting for inflation, the past 20 years puts your beer budget at $108,000, correct?
Chief: Aye, aye.
Lady: Do you know that if you didn’t drink so much beer, that money could have been put in a step-up interest saving account and after accounting for compound interest for the past 20 years, you could have now bought a Ferrari?
Chief: Do you drink beer?
Lady: No… why?
Chief: Where’s your Ferrari?
