Each military branch of the United States has its own cultures, language, and traditions. In the Navy, the Chief Petty Officer serves a dual role as both a technical expert and as a leader–emphasis being more on leadership. There is always a sense of humor that comes from this culture. For the Navy, I find the more ingenious humor typically involves a CPO.

An oldie, but still a goodie.
A Second Class Petty Officer, a First Class Petty Officer, and a Master Chief are off the ship having lunch together near a city park.
While crossing the park they come upon an antique oil lamp. The Chief gently rubs it and a Genie pops out in a puff of smoke. The Genie says, “I usually only grant three wishes at a time, but I’ll give each of you just one.”
“Me first!” says the Second Class Petty Officer.
“I want to be in the Bahamas, driving a speedboat, a beautiful woman at my side and not a care in the world.”
Poof! He’s gone.
“Me next!” says the First Class.
“I want to be in Hawaii, relaxing on the beach with my personal masseuse, an endless supply of Pina coladas and a beautiful woman.”
Poof! He’s gone.
“You’re next,” the Genie says to the Master Chief.
The Chief says, “I want those two back on the ship right after lunch.”
