Navy Friday Funny – The Chief at the Airport Bar

Navy Friday Funny Coffee Mug - front

Each military branch of the United States has its own cultures, language, and traditions. In the Navy, the Chief Petty Officer serves a dual role as both a technical expert and as a leader; emphasis being more on leadership. There is always a sense of humor that comes from this culture. For the Navy, I find the more ingenious humor typically involves a CPO.

Enjoy this Navy Friday Funny.

A Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer was sitting at a bar in the Chicago O’Hare airport when he noticed a beautiful, young, nicely dressed woman sit down next to him.

He thought to himself, “Wow. She’s so gorgeous, she must be a flight attendant. But which airline does she work for?”

Hoping to gain her attention, he leaned towards her and uttered the Delta slogan, “Love to fly and it shows?”

She turned and gave him a blank, confused stare and he immediate thought to himself, “Nope, not Delta.”

A moment later, another slogan popped into his head. Again, he leaned toward her. “Something special in the air?”

She gave him the same confused look, only this time, her eyes spoke, “I’m not interested.”

He mentally kicked himself and scratched American Airlines off the list.

Next he tried the Southwest slogan, “Low fares, nothing to hide?”

This time the woman turned to him and spoke harshly, “What the hell do you want?”

The Senior Chief smiled, then slumped back in his seat, “Ahhh, United Airlines.”
