Navy Friday Funny: The Chief Goes Grocery Shopping with His Wife

Navy Friday Funny Logo v2

Each military branch of the United States has its own cultures, language, and traditions. In the Navy, the Chief Petty Officer serves a dual role as both a technical expert and as a leader; emphasis being more on leadership. There is always a sense of humor that comes from this culture. For the Navy, I find the more ingenious humor typically involves a CPO.

A Navy Chief is walking around a supermarket yelling, “Cris-co, Cris-co?”

A young store clerk hears him and offers to help, pointing the way. “Good afternoon, sir. The Crisco can be found over on Aisle 5.”

The Chief looks at the kid sternly and states quite loudly, “I’m not looking for cooking Crisco, I’m calling my wife.”

The young clerk was somewhat amiss. “You wife’s name is Crisco?”

The Chief stops and smiles at the kid. “No, son. I only call her that in public.”

“What do you call her when you’re at home?”

The Chief doesn’t break his stride.

“Lard ass.”
