Navy Friday Funny – The Senior Chief Strikes Again

Navy Friday Funny Coffee Mug - front

Each military branch of the United States has its own cultures, language, and traditions. In the Navy, the Chief Petty Officer serves a dual role as both a technical expert and as a leader; emphasis being more on leadership. There is always a sense of humor that comes from this culture. For the Navy, I find the more ingenious humor typically involves a CPO.

Enjoy this Navy Friday Funny. On oldie but a goodie!

A Soldier, an Airman, a Marine, and an old Navy Senior Chief were all sitting in San Diego’s Palomino Lounge one night. All were having a good time, drinking away and talking about how bad each of their military branches were.

That is, until they all had one too many…

The Soldier suddenly stood up and said, loud enough for those around him to hear: “God told me that when he made the baddest and strongest, he made ME!”

The Airman wouldn’t have any of that, so he stood and stated out loud, “God told ME that when he made the smartest and the wisest, he made me!”

The Marine, trying to hold his own, put away his crayons, stood up, and said the loudest of all, “God told me that when he made the fastest, the swiftest, and the surest, he made ME!”

All three looked at each other, then, with a shit-eating grin, stared directly at the Chief. They’d been around long enough to know he’d always have something to say. As they waited, the rest of the patrons in the lounge quieted down.

The Senior Chief finished his beer, took a long drag on his cigarette and stood, looking around, first at the crowd, then staring down the Soldier, the Airman, then finally… the Marine.

With a growl in his voice, the Chief sneered. “I never said any of that shit to y’all!”

Never mess with a Senior Chief!
